Have you ever played Minecraft on an M1 Mac

Hey!

After reading the reviews for the new Macs, especially the MacBook Pro, I'm very interested in switching from my Surface Pro 4 to a Mac. I was a Mac user back in the Snow Leopard to Mavericks days. However I changed to Windows some time ago.

I have a variety of programs that I use that I've heard people saying that they work well on M1 however, does anyone know whether Minecraft (Java) works on an M1 Mac? It's one my favorite games and I don't believe I can replace my computer with one that doesn't support it. I'm aware Java exists for ARM however I've not heard anyone play Minecraft on an M! Mac!

Thanks! (I hope I posted it in the right place!)

It is highly recommended. Performance-wise the M1 Mac will blow your mind. It's just a matter of time until Minecraft is optimized for the M1. You can run either version until then. Bedrock (because M1's are able to run natively applications for iOS/iPadOS today) and Java (translated in real-time running Rosetta 2 which is built into. It's not noticeable).

I've side loaded Minecraft to my M1 Mac but keyboard and mouse aren't working. How did you side load it, sir?

Yes

Information from the video: Java does not have an official M1 app , therefore it has to make use of Rosetta 2 Emulation.

He compared the Baseline 7-core GPU MacBook Air to the Baseline8-core GPU MacBook Pro. The MBP produced the world (same source on both) at a rate of a second however, the MacBook Air seemed to be receiving a little better FPS due to some reason (he was using same graphics settings on both).

This comparison has a problem. He left vsync running, so the FPS is limited to 60 FPS. It would have been interesting to see how high it can really go

The iOS, Android, and Windows 10 Minecraft versions all are compatible. Game servers However the Pocket Edition Realms server will not allow the PC and Mac versions to play with each one another. In other words that if you own an iOS device, and your friends are all playing on Android, you can still play together.
