Have you ever played Minecraft on an M1 Mac

Hey!

When I read the reviews of the new Macs, specifically the MacBook Pro, I'm very inclined to upgrade from my Surface Pro 4 to a Mac. I was a Mac user back in the Snow Leopard to Mavericks days. However I switched to Windows a few decades ago.

I have a lot of programs that I use which I've read about working well on M1 but do you know if Minecraft (Java) works on an M1 Mac. It's one of my favorite games, and I don't think I could replace my PC with one that didn't run my favourite game. I'm aware Java exists for ARM however I haven't heard of anyone playing Minecraft on an M! Mac as of yet!

Thanks! (Hopefully I put this post in the correct place!)

It is highly recommended. Performance-wise the M1 Mac will blow your mind. It's only a matter of time until Minecraft is optimized for the M1. As of now you'll be able to use both versions. Bedrock (because M1's natively run iOS/iPadOS apps now) as well as Java (translated in real-time running Rosetta 2 which is built in. You won't even notice the differences.

I tried to side load Minecraft to my M1 Mac, but the keyboard and mouse wouldn't work. What method did you use to side load it?

Yes

Information from the video: Java does not have an native M1 app so it must make use of Rosetta 2 Emulation.

He has compared the Baseline 7-core GPU MacBook Air to the Baseline8-core GPU MacBook Pro. The MBP created the world (same seeds on both) like a second quicker, but the MacBook Air seemed a bit faster for whatever reason (he was using the same graphics settings on both). MINECRAFT

The problem in this comparison is that he left Vsync running, so the FPS limit is set at 60 FPS. It would be interesting to see how much it could go.

The iOS, Android, and Windows 10 Minecraft versions all work well together. However, the Pocket Edition Realms server will not allow the PC and Mac versions to play each other. You can still play with your friends on Android and an iOS device.
