Wolverine and the X-Men series appeared to be yet another hit the big screen, while X-Men: Days of Future Past disappointed because it didn't include any new material from the previous movies, but instead took a few of the established features of the last films and made them even weaker.
In regards to Marvel animated films, you can't ever fail with Iron Man, Thor, and Spider-Man. Iron Man and the First Avenger were arguably among the best MCU movies ever, bringing back the glory days of the MCU (Thor, The Incredible Hulk, and The Vision) while presenting some fresh characters (like Rhodey) that turned out to be more memorable than they might have been in the movies. Spider-Man 4 might not live until the other two installments of this MCU, but it was a fine watch yet. No matter what side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe you're on, you can be certain that there's still a fantastic movie out there somewhere.
