Minecraft PS4 Fails To Get Certification As August Comes To A Close

It's looking unlikely Minecraft will be able to meet its August release window on PS4 after it failed the Sony certification tests. The game is now back on the fixing board at 4J Studios. The team will need to submit the game for certification before it is released.



4J has been busy resolving bugs and issues throughout the month, and not just in the PS4 version but in the upcoming Xbox One and Vita releases too. We've reached out to the studio to confirm a delay, and whether that'll only affect the PS4 version or other platforms as well. Reviews The three ports are scheduled to launch this month.



Sony discovered some issues during #MinecraftPS4's final test. We are working to fix them, but we need to go through the whole procedure again.

Players who have downloaded Xbox 360 and PS3 versions will be able to upgrade to Xbox One and PS4 respectively for $5 - that offer will be valid for at least one year after the date of release. As for what's new in the new consoles expect bigger worlds and a greater draw distance than in the previous console releases.



For the Vita version it's cross-buy with PS3 which means that those who purchased Minecraft on consoles get the handheld version for free, and new buyers will unlock the game on both PS3 and Vita. Like other ports, the asking price to grind your pickaxe on Vita is $20.
