Neve Paritzki Israel celebrates recordbreaking entry into tourism The numbers come from the United States

NEW YORK - Sept. 8th, 2022/PRNewswire• In July and August of 2018 the Israel Ministry of Tourism announced record numbers of tourist arrivals from America. 78,000 tourists from the United States visited Israel in July 2022. This represents a 4 percentage increase over 2019, and 71,000 visitors from the United States in august 2022. This is 13% more than 2019.

Eyal Carlin (North American Tourism Commissioner) said it was thrilling to witness an increase in tourism to Israel from the United States. Already surpassing our record-breaking numbers for 2019, he added. "The United States is the leading market for Israel inbound tourism. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, we had record-breaking numbers of tourists entering the country each month. It's a great positive change that we are very happy about and expect an upward trend for many months to come."

Canada is in the process, as the United States, to surpass the number of tourists who visit Israel. In July 2022 Canada saw 7,200 tourists and August witnessed the number increase to 6,000.

Gal Hana is the Consul and Director for Canada in the Israel Ministry of Tourism. We are getting close to our record numbers for 2019, and we are anticipating that this increase in travel to Israel will continue to grow as Canadians are more comfortable at home in Israel.

In 2019, Israel welcomed more than 4.6 million global tourists, 969,600 of them coming from the United States, and since the country's official opening to all travelers regardless of vaccination status in May, the country has already witnessed more than 600,400 US visitors.
