Minecraft challenge runs are an integral part of the game's creator community. It's generally not what we'd call a violent game, however, you can end up killing a shocking number of enemies in an ordinary playthrough, whether it's the zombies that cause you trouble at the beginning or harvesting items from creatures in the Nether or even fighting the Ender Dragon - and a pacifist playthrough is trickier than you think. You can engage in some violence even if you don't want to.

You don't have to though as we have learned that now because of SwitchBackMongo, a Minecraft YouTuber who mostly plays in Hardcore. SwitchBackMongo decided that the violence was a cycle that was over and set off on a journey to defeat the game without killing any Minecraft mobs. Well, mostly. Although technically they didn't kill anything, the explosive beds - that's right – they used around Ender Dragon certainly did.

Anyone who has played Minecraft before knows that when you're searching for resources, you'll must defend yourself. When you're deep within the crust of the overworld and you're in the middle of it, skeletons, spiders and creepers are all likely to find and kill you, so just getting away from them is a titanic effort. Even the act of simply grasping a piece of iron could lead to a fight or even death. This is Hardcore, so death is not an option. minecraft packs

For SwitchBackMongo the main issue was the Nether. It was a Blaze enemy that is the sole source of Blaze Rods in the game. These are an essential ingredient in crafting the Eye of Ender, which leads to The End, making Blazes one of the two enemies that have to be killed in order to be 'complete' Minecraft. But does this mean that you have to kill them?

SwitchBackMongo explores a variety of methods to handle the animals in the video, including watching as an Iron Golem decimates fifty Blazes with no drops, before going to Google as many of us for an answer. It's true that wolves are man's best friend and they got the job accomplished.

The whole run is a pleasure to watch since it's a new venture for the popular Minecraft YouTuber, which means they aren't 100% sure of the best way to approach it. It's rare to see a challenge that's not been previously accomplished and mastered, especially in a game that's been around for as long as Minecraft.

Another impressive Minecraft game was a group of players complete the game in just two minutes. One player decided to capture the Ender Dragon rather than kill it. While you're here, make sure to check out our list of top Minecraft seeds to find some amazing worlds for your next game.
